Restorative

Friday Night Restorative Yoga

Enjoy a quiet refuge at the end of the week and rest in gentle poses with the support of bolsters, pillows, blankets and other props for prolonged periods of undisturbed silence. This practice is especially helpful for those dealing with sleep issues, chronic stress & fatigue, illness & injuries, anxiety & depression, or facing major life events. Registration is limited and required in advance. Please bring a large blanket and an eye pillow (also available to purchase at the studio).

Queer & Trans Yoga Summer Solstice Fundraiser Class

In celebration of Pride Month, join Christopher for a Summer Solstice fundraiser class in support of the Hamilton Aids Network - Rainbow Youth Collaborative.  This beginner-friendly class aims to reach folks who self-identify as LGBTQ+ who are looking for a safe, inclusive and comfortable place to practice yoga and welcome summer in community. Private, gender neutral change room available.

iRest Yoga Nidra

Friday Night iRest Yoga Nidra

iRest Yoga Nidra is a relaxation practice which allows participants to lie down and rest deeply through guided meditation based on teachings from the yoga tradition and current research. It can be used to develop an inner resource to help navigate and transform negative emotions and thought patterns, calm the nervous system, and foster a deep capacity to meet life as it presents itself. iRest Yoga Nidra is especially effective in reducing stress, chronic pain, sleep issues, anxiety, and the effects of trauma and PTSD. Please bring a large blanket and an eye pillow (also available to purchase at the studio).

Intro to BodySensing

BodySensing is a practice of embodiment from iRest Yoga Nidra which invites you to feel, perceive and attend to subtle messages in the body concerning your thoughts, emotions, health and well-being. This experiential class will involve gentle movement and a guided iRest meditation with an inquiry into managing chronic stress & pain by ‘leaning into’ discomfort without reactivity.

Intro to Group Therapeutic Yoga

Discover how yoga can be adapted and accessible for those with movement issues due to age, injury or other health issues, even in a group setting! This introductory class will help you increase body awareness and improve mobility & stability in your hips and shoulders (your body’s major joints) with easy movement and time to rest, unwind and release tension.

Intro to Restorative Exercise & Alignment

Enjoy an introduction to Restorative Exercise with micro-movements or ‘Correctives’ designed to uncover patterns of tension, strengthen weak areas, and balance the position of your skeleton. Discover how attention to alignment can help you return to a more natural way of moving and restore your body to a state of regeneration.

Continuing with Restorative Exercise

Want to keep up with your Restorative Exercise this summer? These classes are intended for those who have previously taken a Restorative Exercise series and wish to continue exploring alignment by diving deeper into the ‘Correctives’ and learning new micro-movements. Each class will cover different material, and can be taken together or individually.
